The best Sunday lunch
We had family down for the day decided to go to the George Inn for dinner it was wonderful .the pork belly was beautiful and the roast beef was too
We were so impressed we have been for several meals there now
We have now booked Christmas dinner there for 28 can't wait
Lovely friendly place, superb food.
Recently moved into the area, and after eating in a number of venues, have yet to find a pub that turns out better food than the George Inn. Have eaten here a number of times now and have never been dissapointed. Whether you are eating or just in for a drink, Micheal the owner always makes you welcome. The place is full of charactor and we are pleased we found the place being as it is a little further afield coming from Canterbury, 1st class food and host, would recommend to anyone.
Hearty, homemade grub, great ales, warm welcome
We were a small group of adults, kids and a baby. Owner made us feel welcome, food was great and filling. Delicious ales. Lovely grounds to sit and relax in.
I would highly recommend these music sessions, with talented musicians and great vocals.
It was a memorable evening – and everyone was so friendly.
Pleasant return to old haunt
This pub restaurant has been closed for a couple of years so it was a pleasant surprise to find that there was a good traditional English menu on offer, steak and ale pie, beer battered fish and super sized chips! Whitebait good too! Generous portions so no room for deserts! Friendly Landlord. There are Jazz evenings during the week. Well recommended! Only suggestion I would make, perhaps a more prominent notice to advertise that the premises is open.
A Warm Welcome , good food and great live music
A lovely traditional English pub - On approaching the entrance the lovely aroma of an open fire greeted us and inside the bar there was the beautiful inglenook fireplace, a lovely fire burning and a chesterfield sofa to relax in.The traditional fish and chips was delicious served with lovely home made tartare sauce and a very generous piece of cod. The main reason for the visit was to listen to the live jazz. It was a lovely evening -fantastic musicians, vocalists and everyone was so friendly -l would highly recommend the Thursday evening music sessions to jazz lovers.
Pleasant landlord, pub is quaintly decorated, good food. Will go again. And allowed dogs in Easy parking, and good outdoor space.Jackie S - September 2016
Best night ever
What a find, if you enjoy great food, generous portions and a lovely warm reception this is the place for you, the owner " Michael" made us all feel so welcome, it was like being invited into someone's home the hospitality was great, combine that with a warm cosy atmosphere we honestly did not want to leave. Many thanks Michael you really did make our night very special.
This place is unique, full of character. Very old fashioned and with lovely fresh food. The fish and chips were awesome as well as the pork belly. Wish they have a wider variety of desserts.Hoc - August 2016
Best for Sunday Lunch
This pub is regularly visited by us. We recently had our Sunday lunch here, well recommended. Served between 12.00 and 2 pm, best to book, there is a choice of roasts, ample portions, good range of desserts.
Good range of beers, live music every week.
Went for a Sunday evening roast, big plate of really good dinner, well cooked & good quality meat, it's a lovely proper country pub with a log fire, it was very quiet but it was Sunday, the landlord made us very welcome & was very friendly, would definitely recommend.
